
Volunteer Mentor
Description
Volunteer mentors serve weekly at one of the multiple program sites in Sonoma County. Interested candidates must commit to three hours per week for at least one semester. They support group facilitators by implementing gender-specific curriculum, leading and facilitating activities and mentoring program participants.
Responsibilities:
With Girls 90%
• Help facilitate enriching activities.
• Serve as a positive role model for
participants.
• Lead by example.
• Support staff facilitator.
• Assist participants with homework
and reading.
• Have fun!
With Staff
10%
• Complete interview and fingerprinting.
• Participate in volunteer orientation
and mid-semester review.
• Complete pre and post surveys.
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated commitment to community
service.
• Experience working or volunteering
with youth.
• Reliable transportation.
• Spanish language proficiency preferred.
Length of Commitment:
• 6 month minimum
